Can we take our dog with us?
Yes, but you must keep your dog on a lead at all times. Dogs can be taken into the park and museums but are not permitted in the castle.
Is it possible to rent a trolley? Yes you can rent a trolley at the entrance for 50 DkK. When you return the trolley you'll get 25DkK in return.
Is it possible to visit Egeskov in a wheelchair? Due to the many steps and stairs it isn't possible to see the castle inside, but the park and museums are accessible. Egeskov is member of The Accessibility Label and we constantly work to improve the conditions for disabled. For reservation af a weelchair for loan, please call 62 27 10 16
Are there guided tours at Egeskov? No, but you get a folder at the entrance which helps you guiding your selves around in the area.
Is it possible to buy postcards, stamps and souveniers? Yes, in the car-museum, next to the café and next to the castle there are shops where you can buy souvenirs. Please see the places marked K at the map.
Is Egeskov really built on oak pilings?
Yes, the whole castle stands on oak pilings and, according to legend, a complete oak forest was felled to construct the building which was completed in 1554.
How many people work at Egeskov?
In the high season, we employ approximately 150 staff. We have about 28 full-time staff all year round.
How many people visit Egeskov each year?
Every year more than 200,000 guests from all over the world visit Egeskov. Approximately 70% of visitors are Danish, while the remainder come from abroad.
Is it true that there is a replica of Egeskov in Japan?
Yes, there is a 1:1 copy of the castle in Hokkaido. It was built in 1986 and contains a large aquarium.
